Northern Iron provides a host of design services to professionally guide you when it comes to making your spaces shine bright and exude that style that is uniquely yours. Sonya Barbosa, our in-house Interior Decorator, is an honours graduate from Interior Decorating at QC Design School and a member of the Decorators and Designers Association of Canada (DDA Canada). Sonya offers the following services:

PASSION FOR DESIGN AND LOCAL SOURCING

Sonya’s keen eye for design developed while lending her hand to the family business for the past 20 years. With pencil and paper always at the ready, she has an affinity for sketching and transforming lines and shapes into sleek and elegant designs. Ever-enthusiastic about symmetry and space, Sonya is also passionate about using locally sourced materials and tradespeople. She believes that the creation of beautiful spaces is a direct reflection of a vibrant community of craftspeople who collaborate on a regular basis.

LIGHTING CONSULTATIONS & ON-SITE VISITS

If you require professional assistance as you make your lighting decisions, Sonya is often available in our 2,000 sq. ft. Barrie showroom to answer your questions.

Lighting assistance is also available through our on-site visits and consultations. Whether it’s before construction even begins, or at the tail-end of building, when you’re ready to choose your lighting fixtures, we can help.

 

Pre-Construction Consultation: For clients who want to ensure that their building plans contain the most effective and design-minded placement of lighting prior to construction, Sonya works with architectural plans to insert lighting positioning that is functional and creates the ambiance you envision in your build.

Post-Construction Consultation: For clients who have just completed building or renovating and are about to make lighting choices, Sonya visits the site and offers insights around light placement, fixture size, hanging height, and makes style suggestions, and considers the amount of light required for your space.
